This Privacy Policy explains how Story Bay Film Production FZ - Dubai ("Story Bay", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit curatorpro.app or use the Curator desktop application ("Curator").

1. Data controller

Story Bay Film Production FZ, a Free Zone company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the data controller. Contact: hi@curatorpro.app.

2. Privacy-first by design

Curator is a local-first application. Your video files, images, metadata, GPS coordinates, and generated outputs are processed on your own device and never transmitted to Story Bay's servers.

3. Information we collect

Account & purchase data: name, email, country, and order ID, collected by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record and shared with us for license delivery and support.
Support correspondence: messages and attachments you voluntarily send to hi@curatorpro.app.
Website analytics: aggregated, privacy-preserving usage data (page views, referrer, anonymised IP). No cross-site tracking.
License validation: the Curator app may periodically contact our license server to verify your activation; this exchange contains only the license key and an anonymous device fingerprint.

4. AI processing

When you opt in to AI-generated metadata, frames extracted from your clips are sent to third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Google) strictly for the duration of inference. Story Bay does not retain copies of your media. AI providers process the content under their own data-protection terms, which prohibit using your content to train their models.

5. Lawful basis (GDPR / UAE PDPL)

We process personal data based on (a) performance of contract (delivering your license and support), (b) legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), and (c) your consent (optional newsletter, optional AI features).

6. Data retention

Purchase records are retained for 7 years to comply with accounting obligations. Support correspondence is retained for 24 months. You may request deletion at any time via hi@curatorpro.app.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact hi@curatorpro.app.

8. International transfers

Story Bay is established in the UAE. Service providers (Lemon Squeezy, hosting, AI inference) may process data in the EU and the United States under appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent).

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via email to active license holders.
